Freight Ninja Celebrates Earth Day: A Day of Volunteering at Fischer Farm

This past weekend, the Freight Ninja team had the opportunity to spend the afternoon supporting Fischer Farm’s annual Earth Day celebration. Following our meaningful experience volunteering at the farm this past December, we were thrilled to return to our neighbors right next door and lend a hand for such an important community event.
Fischer Farm holds a special place in the Bensenville area. As one of the oldest remaining homesteads in DuPage County, the property traces its roots back to the 1830s. Today, it remains dedicated to connecting people with agriculture, history, and environmental conservation. Throughout the year, the farm hosts educational programs and seasonal events that keep local history alive, and being able to support their mission on Earth Day felt like a natural fit for our team.
When we arrived, the farm was bustling with energy and filled with families ready to celebrate the planet. The afternoon was packed with kids enjoying interactive displays, crafts, and games. One of the highlights for
everyone was seeing the farm animals, including the goats, pigs, and chickens, which always add such a great atmosphere to the homestead.
Throughout the event, our Freight Ninja crew helped wherever extra hands were needed to ensure everything ran safely and smoothly:
-
Wagon Rides: We spent the afternoon at the loading station, assisting guests as they boarded the wagon rides. It was a joy to help families settle in for their tour of the historic grounds and ensure everyone got on and off safely.
-
Earth-Themed Bouncy House: To help manage the high energy of the day, our team assisted at the bouncy house. We focused on the safety of the children, coordinating the flow of kids getting in and out so that everyone could enjoy the fun in an organized way.
We are incredibly grateful to the Fischer Farm team and the Bensenville Park District for welcoming us back so warmly. Their dedication to creating memorable, educational events for local families is truly inspiring. Seeing firsthand how much joy this property brings to our community reinforces just how important these partnerships are to us.
This event reminded us once again why community involvement is a core value at Freight Ninja. While we spend our days focused on the logistics and transportation industry, opportunities like this allow us to step outside our professional roles and connect with the people and places right in our backyard. Giving back helps us stay grounded in what really matters – supporting the towns we work in and the neighbors we serve.
We look forward to supporting more community events and partnering with organizations that share our dedication to creating positive experiences. Thank you again to Fischer Farm and the Bensenville Park District for having us!
