This past weekend, the Freight Ninja team – along with our sister company, Power Three Insurance Group – had the opportunity to spend the afternoon supporting Fischer Farm’s annual Farmside Christmas celebration. What started as a simple volunteer effort turned into one of the most meaningful moments of our holiday season, and we wanted to share a closer look at the experience.
Fischer Farm holds a special place in the community. As one of the oldest remaining homesteads in DuPage County, the property traces its roots back to the 1830s. Today, Fischer Farm is dedicated to connecting people with agriculture, history, and environmental conservation. The land still reflects much of its original landscape, and several buildings – including the 1837 clapboard cabin and the 1919 farmhouse – continue to educate visitors about local history, early farming life, and the importance of preserving open spaces. Throughout the year, the farm hosts camps, tours, educational programs, and seasonal events that bring families together and keep their story alive.
Being able to support an event in a place with such deep community purpose made the day feel even more special.
When our teams arrived, the farm was already glowing with holiday spirit. Lights lined the walkways, wagon rides looped through the property, fires crackled at the s’mores station, and families bundled up in hats and scarves moved from activity to activity. The energy was warm, festive, and exactly what you hope for during the holiday season.
Throughout the afternoon, our combined Freight Ninja and Power Three crew helped wherever extra hands were needed. Volunteers assisted with greeting guests, serving food, helping children with crafts, managing parking, tending the s’mores fire, supporting wagon rides, and even decorating the farmhouse Christmas tree. A few team members dressed up as elves, adding a fun and playful touch that the kids absolutely loved. There was laughter, a lot of hot cocoa, and more than a few moments of pure holiday magic.
We are incredibly grateful to the Fischer Farm team and the Bensenville Park District for welcoming us so warmly. Their dedication to preserving the farm’s history, educating the community, and creating memorable events is truly inspiring. Seeing firsthand how much care they put into this property – and how much joy it brings to local families – reinforced just how important community partnerships are.
Farmside Christmas reminded us of why community involvement is important to our companies. At Freight Ninja and Power Three, we spend our days focused on logistics, transportation, and customer service – but opportunities like this allow us to step outside our roles and connect with the people and places around us in a different way. Giving back isn’t just something we aim to do; it’s something we value deeply. It strengthens relationships, supports the towns we work in, and helps us stay grounded in what really matters.
We look forward to supporting more community events and partnering with organizations that share our dedication to creating positive experiences for the people around us. Thank you again to Fischer Farm and Bensenville Park District for having us and thank you to everyone who joined in for such a memorable day.
